1st Term ENGLISH TASKS – Primary-

This term the 1st of Primary students have been learning about families and how different they are. They have also worked with adjectives to describe the people in a family as is it shown in the picture below.

This quarter our project consisted in making a garden. Each child has done it as they wanted: rivers, trees and even bridges. A good way to use the imagination and creativity of our 2nd grade students.

In our book of “Big Questions” we have a lot of experiments to do with food. In this term we have studied types of food and, for this reason, we have made an experiment with food colouring. We need:

  • White paper
  • A tray
  • Milk
  • Red, blue, yellow and green food colouring
  • Washing – up liquid
  • A cotton bud

These are the instructions:

  1. Put some milk in the tray.
  2. Add three drops of each colour of food colouring.
  3. Add a drop of washing – up.
  4. Mix the colours and washing – up liquid with a cotton bud.
  5. Put the paper on the top of the milk.
  6. Lift the paper off and wait for it to dry.

In our English lessons we learnt a lot of new informations and words related with the animals, and one of the things we found more interesting is the camouflage that some animals can use to protect themselves…so we decided to practice drawing and creating some diferent camouflage patterns and objects! The result was so interesting and we could discover how important it is for the animals and how funny can be “camouflaging” things.

The students prepared a short talk about the green zones around their area.

The students created a quiz show about green zones and recreational areas around our city.

The students created and performed a radio advert, with its slogan, jingle and script.
