This first term we have been investigating, among other things, rocks and minerals. That’s why we have decided to convert into geologists for a while and try to identify minerals in some rocks. We were taken to the laboratory, got a pair of safety glasses and were ready to start. Our experiment consisted in placing a rock sample in a cup and covering it with vinegar. If after some time bubbles appeared, it meant that the rock contained calcite. Wanna see the results? Enjoy the video!
Oh, also to end up our lab visit, we could have a closer look at the mineral collections that our school possesses and each of us for sure chose his or her favourites.
